the Ghanaian Cronicle Story
Ghana Air Force does not own any
more any Short's Skyvan SC7
They have been sold to Pink Aviation
Services, Vienna.
Ghana Air Force had operated 6 Skyvans at Takoradi Air Force
Station. 2 of them have been sold 1998 and scrapped.
The other 4 with the tail numbers G 450, G452, G454 and G455have been grounded
subsequently because of lack of maintenance and spare parts...pictures..
Engines have been running far beyond HSI,
Propellers are to be scrapped by AD 96-18-14,
fuselages are grounded by Short's SB 53-68, new wing bushes have to be
installed.
Two Skyvans, G452 (SH1929) and G455 (SH1933) have structural
damage on
Nose gear attachment fittings and Frame 22 back to Frame 74. with no more spare
parts available from Short's.
After years Ghana Air Force decided to sell these airplanes as
scrap, what they are.
Ghana Air Force invited to on open bid, 4 Short's Skyvan SC7 for sale.

We, Pink Aviation Services in
Vienna, operating Skyvans since
1986 placed a bid.
This bid including the provisos have been accepted by Ghana
Air Force,
and they requested to transfer the money to their account in Ghana.
This Document was issued on 22. Dezember 2003
The money was transfered, the receipt acknowledged and a document
from GAF was issued on 4. Feb 2004,
confirming that the ownership has been transfered to Pink aviation
Services, Vienna
and the registration in Ghana Air Force has been cancelled.
Sunsequently all 4 Short's Skyvan SC7 Aircraft have been
registered in Austria with the tail numbers
OE-FDP (SH1929), OE-FDL (SH1930), OE-FDI (SH1932) and OE-FDX (SH1933)
owner and operator Pink Aviation Services.
We, Pink Aviation Sevices started maintenance work on SH1903
and SH1932 to make them ready
for a ferry flight to Klatovy, where complete refurbishment should take place.
As these two Skyvans becomne ready for ferry, Ghana Air Force
issued a letter stating,
that the sale of the 4 Skyvans is cancelled and the Skyvans will be put again on
a tender. This is unlawful according to Ghanaian law.
The Lawyer of Pink Aviation Services in Ghana replied by a letter on 27. Feb 2004 that the cancellation is not accepted.
Ghana Air Force did not reply to this,
neither paid back any money for the maintenance work done by Pink Aviation on
airplanes,
nor the money paid for the airplanes.
Following a notification of win, Pink Aviation Services
proceeded with investments necessary to ferry the aircraft home;
incurring large
financial burdens for labor and the heavy expenses associated with new parts and
extensive engineering costs.
Ghana Armed Forces is trying to reverse a completed
process made under their terms and again,
place the exact same aircraft under a
new tender without consideration or compensation to Pink Aviation
Pink Aviation is the owner of the 4 Skyvans,
OE-FDP (SH1929) ex G452
OE-FDL (SH1930) ex G450
